James E. Moss, 73, of Laurel, MS, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Sharon Cemetery in Sharon, MS. Rev. Gene Douglas and Rev. Jim Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery

James was a very loved man who was a dedicated Christian whose purpose was to see that everyone knew the Lord. James was a graduate of Gardner High School, a retired captian with the Laurel Fire Department and a deacon at Highland Baptist Church.

James was preceded in death by his parents, E.B. "Billy" and Beatrice Hill Moss and a sister, Clara Faye Moss.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Martha Carol Hill Moss, Laurel, MS; son, Jeff Moss (Mary Beth), Laurel, MS; sister, Johnnie Ruth Kelly (Charles), Weatherford, TX; brothers, Sam Moss (Patricia), Chickasaw, AL and Ben Moss, Laurel, MS; grandchildren, Brittany Moss, Hattiesburg, MS and Brett Moss, Laurel, MS; aunt, Doris Shell, Laurel, MS; in-laws, Garland Miles( Bobbie), Laurel, MS, Kenny Hill (Becky), Laurel, MS and Jim Hill (Cheryl), Hammond, LA as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alton Wright, Fred Barron, Bob Herrity, Richard Odom, Don Boyd and Doug Gatlin.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at Highland Baptist Church of Laurel. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342
