Donald D. Joplin, 86, of Laurel, MS, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at MS State Veterans Home in Collins, MS. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, MS. Bro. Leon Carmical and Bro. Harold Holifield officiated the services and Martha Ann Nelson provided the music. Burial was in First Baptist Church Of Calhoun Cemetery.
He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun and had been a poultry producer for Sanderson Farms for 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joplin and Lottie Morgan Joplin and a grandchild, Amber Moddox.
Survivors include his wife Frances Joplin, Laurel, MS; son, David Joplin(Carol) Ellisville, MS; daughters , Donna Joplin Long Beach, MS and Bonnie Warren (James) Ellisville,MS; sister, Nancy Holifield Laurel, MS; grandchildren, Leslie Young (Taylor) Vicksburg, Kyle Joplin(Denise) Ellisville, Kelly Joplin Lafayette, LA, and Zack Warren Ellisville, MS, and great grandchild, Ben Young, Vicksburg, MS.
Pallbearers were Kyle Joplin, Zack Warren, Taylor Young, Greg Holifield, Gary Rogers, and Issiah Miles
Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS which was in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342
